Just a few notes:

If you are unfamiliar with Golden Retrievers and the care they require you can read more about them here: https://dogtime.com/dog-breeds/golden-retriever#/slide/1.

Do not use dog shampoo on your puppy.  Groomers recommend Blue Dawn Soap.  For fleas lather your puppy well and leave on for 5-10 minutes.  Rinse thoroughly.  Do not use conditioners.

We have taken extra steps to insure your puppy is healthy.  Your puppy has received his/her first set of shots, and been wormed.

All dogs have some level of Coccidia in their gut. When a dog is stressed (i.e. being shipped, moving into a new environment etc.) the stress can cause the Coccidia to bloom and flair up causing diarrhea. I have included a couple of links below to help identify and treat diarrhea in puppies.

A recommended vaccination schedule should start at or about 6 weeks of age. The presence of maternal antibodies are know to interfere with the development of an active immunity. puppies should be revaccinated every 2-3 weeks until at least 12 weeks of age. Annual revaccination is recommended.

Please do not take you puppy around other dogs or to the park until your puppy has been vaccinated for Parvo. It is a cruel disease and most always results in death.

Keep your puppy wormed. Worm overload can cause your puppy’s immune system to become weak and susceptible to diseases such as Parvo.

Goldens are a gentle natured dog and respond well to positive reinforcement.

Please feel free to call or text anytime should you have questions.

We really enjoy updates and pictures of your puppy and ask that you share often.

May your puppy bring many years of happiness and friendship to you and your family.
